"At Good Success Church, we LOVE and we don’t do strife !!!  "

2 Tim. 2:23-25, Prov. 10:12

"How Strife Begins, THE SPIRITUAL ENEMIES OF UNITY "

Key  Points  to Consider

• The apparent enemy is not the real enemy.
• We are not fighting people, but the spirits that manipulate  immature or sinful attitudes in people.
• These spirits seek to gain access to our churches and families; they must be discerned.
• Religious ambition in the human heart is just the entry point for the enemies we are truly fighting: the spirits which are division and strife.
• The nature and goal of these spirits are the same - to inspire someone to seek, in an ungodly way, another person’s position of authority, thus causing division.

The Goal: To usurp authority and divide the people of God.

Three People and How the Spirits Manipulated Them

The Korah Spirit (Jude 1:6; Numbers 16:8-10)

Through his influence he was able to seduce 250 of Israel’s princes to join him in a rebellion against Moses. We are not fighting people, but the spirits that manipulate immature or sinful attitudes in people. A subordinate leader who has tasted success is discontent in that he/she does not have more power and envies those above him/her. Numbers 16:3, you will often see in the accuser the very flaws he/she says are in the Pastor. Often times our wrong attitudes toward authority cause us to misjudge a leader as controlling when he/she is, in fact, simply fulfilling his/her God given spiritual responsibility. God appointed Moses as Israel’s leader. To usurp the authority God has installed is to sin against the Lord Himself. Moses exposes the sins of envy and ambition in Korah’s heart. Ambition walks upon two legs: envy and pride.

Solution: One must be content to wholeheartedly serve God where He has currently placed us.

The Absalom Spirit (2 Samuel 15:1-6)

Absalom was not openly confrontational and did not seek to challenge the king’s authority. Absalom used his charm and subtle criticisms of the king to steal away the hearts of men. Absalom found fault with David and engendered grumbling in the people of Israel, while winning the hearts of the people with flattery and charm. Absalom spirit - Grumble about the way things are not getting done, find fault with the leader, and arrogantly project the image that if you were in charge, all would be well. Then capture the hearts of the people, flatter them and bring them into your camp. Beware when someone comes along complaining about the way things are done; speaking evil of the church’s leadership and promoting himself/ herself as an answer to these problems.

Solution: Repent from pride and refrain from using flattery to gain an advantage among the people. Submit yourself and your talents to the Church leaders.

The Jezebel Spirit (Revelation 2:20-26)

The spirit seeks to control people who were abused and are afraid of being abused again, so they seek to control their world by whatever means available.

Solution: Humility and trust in God. The Jezebel spirit seeks to put a wedge between the Pastors and the Intercessors and the Pastors and Leaders. Without pastors leading in godly authority, a church simply cannot function: confusion, ambition and chaos reign.

True spiritual authority is a source of protection; it is a living shelter that covers and nurtures a home or a church. Satan seeks to neutralize the leaders in that Christian setting, for if he can strike the shepherds then he can scatter the sheep.
